The Canadian Live Music Association Calls for the Renewal and Permanency of Amplify BC
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Toronto, ON - July 14, 2026
The CLMA, alongside BC Music Festival Collective and our other BC members, is advocating for the permanent renewal of Amplify BC’s Music Fund to ensure long-term stability for BC’s music and festival sector.
Amplify BC is a critical support to creative activity across the province. The fund helps to make cultural activities more accessible and affordable to Canadians, increases opportunities for local artists to work and grow, and contributes massively to spillover economic benefit to local businesses. The program was not included in the Province's 2027 budget, placing one of BC's most important investments in live music at risk.
A study by BC Music Festival Collective showed that their network alone generated an estimated $550 M in annual economic impact while operating on combined budgets of approximately $110 M.
Provincial support for live music events is an investment in the economic development of a jurisdiction. The renewed and permanent investment of Amplify BC is an exciting opportunity to invigorate BC—for its residents, visitors, and economy.
