Understanding and responding to the impacts of extreme weather on live music events in Canada
Live music events – especially outdoor ones – are increasingly vulnerable to disruptions from wildfires, floods, storms, and extreme heat, becoming a defining challenge for our sector.
As a response, the CLMA is currently undertaking a national initiative to assess the impacts of weather-related disruptions on live music events in Canada and build on those findings to develop a robust Climate Contingency Roadmap, composed of practical, accessible tools to plan for and respond to climate disruptions.
Help us better understand the current state of the sector in relation to extreme weather disruptions and climate adaptation.
WHY YOUR INPUT MATTERS?
Your insights reveal the real impacts of extreme weather
Climate disruptions affect everything from event safety and scheduling to infrastructure, staffing, and audience experience. Understanding the scale of these impacts is essential for protecting the future of live music.
Your experience will guide the tools we build
Many live music operators are navigating climate risks with limited resources, tight budgets, and little sector-specific guidance.
Your voice will shape national solutions
This national survey ensures that the roadmap reflects the real-world challenges faced by venues, promoters, and festivals across the country.
