Changes to the team at the CLMA: Welcoming Midhat Mujaddid, our new Director of Operations and Member Engagement
Dear members,
The CLMA is excited to introduce you to our new Director of Operations and Member Engagement, Midhat Mujaddid. She will replace Maddy Oliver, who will be departing the organisation at the end of September.
Hello everyone! It’s an honour for me to be welcomed into the beautiful ecosystem and community the CLMA has fostered over the past 11 years. I’ve recently graduated from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, and have had enriching experiences across the music industry throughout my undergrad. From my time with Women in Music Canada, ArtHaus, NXNE, and the JUNOs, I look forward to gathering my knowledge from these opportunities to not only carry Maddy’s torch into the future but also illuminate new paths for the CLMA and its members. Alongside the team, I’ll be working to turn your insights into impact; whether that be through member benefits, specialized programming, or industry events, all guided by continued conversations to understand your needs. Please reach out, send me your favorite songs, or any cool shows on your radar. I’m here for it all!

Thank you, CLMA community, for the past six years we’ve spent together. It’s difficult to call them “great years”, given that we’ve weathered pandemics, climate crises, and deep social and political reflection together. And yet I’ve been honoured to work amongst and in the service of such a resilient group of people and organizations who bring so much joy, hope, and human connection to us all. I will be turning my focus to a project that has been growing over the past year (with the support of the CLMA during its development!): Young Music Professionals, a network dedicated to career advancement for young people and succession planning in the music business. My new contact is ed@youngmusicprofessionals.com; I look forward to seeing you all in that inbox!
