CLMA holds AGM: Strategic Plan, Board election, Annual Report

September 28, 2023 - The CLMA’s 9th Annual General Meeting was held on September 28th via Zoom. The CLMA membership and live music community took the opportunity to reflect on achievements of the past year and opportunities in the coming year.

“The CLMA’s persistent, dynamic, and dogged advocacy on your behalf has been and will continue to be the very best tool we have in advancing our priorities…. As we look back on last year and forward into our future, let’s remember the many lessons we’ve learned including the most important one: we are so much stronger together."
- Nick Farkas, VP Concerts and Events, evenko; Board Chair, Canadian Live Music Association

During the meeting, the CLMA shared its Strategic Plan for 2023-2026. This refreshed plan is largely a “stay the course” strategy, prioritising focus on the most impactful opportunities for economic and sector growth through advocacy, sector development, networking, and research.

The AGM included the election of the 2023-24 Board of Directors. It saw the election of Marc Gertner, (Vice President Business and Legal Affairs, Live Nation Canada), André Guérette (Vice President, Paquin Artists Agency), and Dan Moulton (Partner, Crestview Strategy), as well as the re-election of incumbents Kerry Clarke, Victoria Lord, and Miro Oballa.

The CLMA sincerely thanks outgoing Board members for their contributions: Vanessa Arscott (Plan V Productions), Marlin Jones (FM Systems), Lynne Skromeda (formerly Winnipeg Folk Festival), and Robyn Stewart (Women in Music Canada).
